“HD Ready”, “HD Ready (Full HD)” and “Full HD” do consumers really know the meaning of these hallowed acronyms? Apparently not according to electronic giants LG. Citing the TV industry, the company have proclaimed that consumers need educating on high-definition before they make the bigger cash splurges on visual units.
Also blaming retailers themselves for this lack of knowledge after a number of reputable dealers have recently been caught out telling customers Freeview is in fact an HD service, the most shocking stat comes in that one out of four Brits believe owning an HD Ready TV instantly makes every programme viewed HD.
