adventureland

Written and directed by Superbad’s Greg Mottola, and based on his own experiences of working in a theme-park in the 1980s, Adventureland stars Jesse Eisenberg as a college grad who winds up in a seemingly dead end job as a games host at a local amusement park. Also featuring Twilight’s Kristen Stewart, Ryan Reynolds and comedy specialists Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, Adventureland hits the US on August 25 with the following extras:

- Blu-ray Exclusives: Frigo’s Ball Tap, Lisa P’s Guide To Style, Welcome to Adventureland
- Deleted Scenes - with optional audio commentary by Greg Mottola
- Audio commentary - with Greg Mottola and Jesse Eisenberg
- The Making Of Adventureland
- Digital Copy

    3D Standard Coming To Blu-ray

    monsters-vs-aliens

The Blu-ray Disc Association has charged a task force with developing the best way to integrate 3D content into the high definition format. Representing studios, manufacturers and the IT industries, the group will look for a universal set of specifications for bringing stereoscopic material to future discs using the newer polarised technology, rather than the anaglyph efforts seen on discs such as My Bloody Valentine, and the US release of The Polar Express. We could be in for a long wait before anything is decided though - no timetable has been set, and with so many parties involved a unified 3D BD disc could could come some time after 3D TVs hit the high street.

According to the films director, Terminator: Salvation will feature up to 40 minutes of extra footage on Blu-ray. The fourth entry in the blockbusting sci-fi franchise hits UK cinemas on June 03, but in an interview with collider.com, helmer McG stated that ‘extensive subplots involving hero John Connor, as well as an alternate ending’ would appear in the home release. Whether or not these scenes would be integrated into a longer cut for the Blu-ray remains unclear - as always we’ll let you know when we do.
